New craft books
Another lovely surprise! As a birthday treat for myself, I decided to buy some Japanese craft books. I decided to go with Amazon JP because I will be getting the books at the same price as they would sell in Japan plus the shipping rates are reasonable. Still cheaper than the other online English vendors. Because my birthday is not yet till September and it takes 5-7 weeks to arrive according to Amazon JP, I ordered them about a couple of weeks ago. But surprise, surprise, they arrived today! Splendido! Early birthday prezzie for me from myself :)
My favourite has to be this (ISBN 407248881X):
It is the latest make your own eraser stamp book on Amazon JP. I wanted one because I want to turn some of my doodles into stamps. I decided to buy this book instead of this because it has a better cover and got better reviews. And it is great! Lots of stamp ideas although I still need to get the instructions at the start translated. But like what you would expect of Japanese craft books, the pictures are probably sufficient.
Next fav is this one (ISBN 4834723968):
Amazing ideas on how to use just 50 cm of fabric with differing widths to make lots of stuff. There is a similar book to this. It sure was difficult deciding between the two.
And then, I just have to get this one (ISBN 4834723682):
I have been eyeing a bientot's felt houses on Zakka Mini Mini for a long time now. This book is by the artist, Yamato Chihiro, herself. Felt houses instructions are in the book. Great! However, to be honest, I do not think I have the skill to make them.
The other 3 books I got are about making vinyl pouches, embroidery ideas and making felt creatures and food.

I've looked at piccies of that last felt animals and food one too which looks great, how cute is all the food! =)

Hello Meshell, the embroidery one is great although it has quite a fair bit of cross stitch examples which I don't quite dig. I prefer the last one - lots of cute food!
If you wanna get it, don't buy from Kitty Craft - costs much more.

Have you tried shopping on YesAsia (www.yesasia.com)? So easy, and often free shipping. Plus decent prices and good books! Your felt-food/animals is definately on my "to-buy-list"!
Hi malin, yeah, I did look at YesAsia - they got free shipping but the books themselves cost a more! It was still cheaper for me to buy the lot with Amazon JP (their shipping is 300Y/book + 1200Y for Aus). Thanks anyway!
And yes, you really got to put the felt food one on your to-buy-list! You will like it - lots of kawaii in there.
